It seems when painting or drawing that we too often try to illustrate exactly what we think we should see, and not enough of what we feel we see. Perhaps we should all paint with our eyes closed.
And so the following quote from The Little Prince:
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye."
